It is 3am. The cat has decided it is time. Time for what? Time for everything. Time to run. Time to knock things off surfaces. Time to sprint from one end of the flat to the other for no discernible reason. Time to sit on your face.
The Interactive Cat Treadmill is an attempt to redirect this energy into something that doesn’t involve your face.
A motorised track runs a feather, a ball, or a toy around a circular path at variable speeds. The cat chases it. The cat catches it (briefly). The cat chases it again. This continues for longer than you’d expect — cats are, it turns out, very committed to the chase — and by the end of it, the cat is tired. A tired cat is a cat that sleeps. A cat that sleeps is a cat that is not on your face.
Three speed settings. Quiet motor. USB powered. And a design that is, somehow, less offensive to look at than most cat toys. The 3am zoomies are not eliminated. But they are, at least, redirected.
